Center Updates Campus Accessibility Map

The Center is working with staff from the Center for Students with Disabilities to update the Accessibility Map of campus published in 1999.

The map will cover the Storrs and Depot campuses of the University. Features shown on the map will include accessible parking spaces, accessible and automated accessible building entrances, crosswalks, and audible signals for street crossing. The map will also show highway approaches to the two campuses and the location of the Parking and Transportation Services office.

Once the map has been updated, it will be published as a paper map. The UCCGIA is exploring publishing an interactive map on the Web and will be working with the Center for Students with Disabilities to produce a tactile map version.

Map compilation is scheduled to be completed during the Fall Semester, 2006, with the paper, Web, and tactile versions of the map to appear later in the academic year.
